COMEBACK FALLS SHORT
Cleveland Indians 6
Boston Red Sox 4
W: Cliff Lee (4-0)
L: Tim Wakefield (2-2)

Ugh. Three errors. The Red Sox are the worst defending team in baseball. Millar and Ortiz aren't exactly John Olerud-esque over at first, Bellhorn has poor range, Mueller's arm verges on erattic, Reese has 5 errors, Manny is Manny, Damon has no arm and reduced range, and the right fielder, typically Millar or Daubach, is a transplanted first baseman. The Sox lead the league in unearned runs. Pathetic. Wakefield and Mirabelli also got run on like crazy. Our offense blows too. We make pitchers like rA Dickey and Cliff Lee look like Pedro Martinez and Curt Schilling.

The Man of the Game is Jason Gerut. He went 3 for 4 with a pair of singles and a triple. He also scored a run.

The Bitch-Goat shall be divided thusly:
Kapler: 0.2 - 0 for 3, 2 LOB, 2 K
Ortiz: 0.2 - 0 for 4, 2 LOB, K
Bellhorn: 0.2 - 0 for 4, 2 LOB, 3 K
Wakefield: 0.4 - 8 H, 6 ER, E, BB, HR

SCHILLING GETS KILLED
Boston Red Sox 6
Toronto Blue Jays 12
W: Miguel Batista (1-3)
L: Curt Schilling (4-3)
H: Aquilino Lopez (2)

You'd think in a game that the Sox score 6 and have Schilling pitching against a guy who hasn't won yet, we'd win. Think again. This was the first really poor performance from Schilling. However, he was still able to give the team a chance to win. That chance was snatched away by the bullpen which has gone from spectacular to lackluster. Of course, the Sox defense had 2 errors.

The Man of the Game is Orlando Hudson who seems to kill us along with Catalanotto. Hudson was 4 for 4 with a walk, an RBI and 5 runs scored. He scored every time he got on base and he got on base every time he came to the plate. He basically had the ideal leadoff hitter's day.

The Bitch-Goat shall be divided thusly:
Millar: 0.1 - 0 for 5, 4 LOB
Schilling: 0.3 - 5 IP, 8 H, 3 ER, 2 BB
Dinardo: 0.2 - 0.1 IP, E, 3 R
Embree: 0.1 - 0.1 IP, 2 R
Timlin: 0.1 - IP, ER
Williamson: 0.1 - 0.1 IP, ER
Malaska: 0.1 - IP, 2 ER

SOX COMEBACK TO BEAT JAYS
Boston Red Sox 9
Toronto Blue Jays 3
W: Lefty Embree (2-0)
L: Kerry "Sideburns" Ligtenberg (1-1)

Now this is what it should be like. Good offense, solid starting pitching, and great bullpen work combine to make a win.

The Man of the Game is a tough one. No-one had a standout offensive day on either side. Sure, some guys had good games, but no-one had a really tremendous game. The starting pitching was unspectacular as well. The bullpen for the Sox was awsome and the best releiver was Embree who wound up getting the win. So Embree is the MOTG with 1.1 perfect innings of releif.

BRONSON RETURNS IN GLORIOUS FASHION
Bronson Red Sox 4
Toronto Blue Jays 0
W: Bronson "Not Rolando" Arroyo (2-1)
L: Pat Hentgen (2-3)

The Sox hit a solo homerun in the 3rd, 4th and 5th innings to add onto a 1-0 lead that was acquired in the 2nd. Arroyo had an easy day making Blue Jays batters look like fools.

The Man of the Game is Bronson Arroyo, obviously. He pitched 8 innings and couldv'e gone 9 if he had been in the rotation recently. He allowed only 4 baserunners on three basehits and a HBP. He struck out 6 and induced 9 groundouts. He threw a season high 100 pitches, 70 of which were strikes. You geuessed it, that's 70% strikes.
