A-ROD TO SOX?

Apparrently the big deal is back on the table and is closer to being agreed to than ever before. Thanks in no small part to the Orioles who signed Tejada to a $12M/year deal thus increasomg Nomar's value beyond $15M/year. Anyways, here how it will go down if it goes down:

Manny and 2 prospects to Texas for A-Rod. Cash might also go along with Manny depending on whether or not A-Rod restructures his contract.

Nomar to LA for prospects and Odalis Perez

Perez some place else for a new left fielder.

Rangers sign Todd "Not Larry" Walker and play him at second moving Mike Young to short.

So basically the Sox give up Manny, 2 prospects, possible cash, and Nomar for a new left fielder, prospects, and A-Rod. Whether or not this is a good deal depends on the quality of the prospects involved, the amount of money sent to Texas and taken off of A-Rod's contract, and the quality of the left fielder we acquire. If we can get decent prospects to replace the ones we lose and get a LFer like Magglio Ordonez, I think that the deal will be good. Just compare the lineups:

1. Damon
2. Mueller
3. A-Rod
4. Magglio
5. Ortiz
6. Millar
7. Nixon
8. Varitek
9. insert 2B here

versus

1. Damon
2. Mueller
3. Nomar
4. Manny
5. Ortiz
6. Millar
7. Nixon
8. Varitek
9. insert 2B here

The production is not improved all that much but getting rid of Manny would be huge for the clubhouse atmosphere. Manny doesn't want to be here and neither does Nomar.

Fuck em.

Sox sign utility infielder Mark Bellhorn

We also signed Keith Foulke which makes our bullpen unbeleivably good. Here is my projection for the 6 pitchers and their roles:

Closer: Foulke
RHP Set-Up: Williamson
LHP Set-Up: Embree
RHP Set-Up: Timlin
Long Man: Arroyo
Situational Lefty: Sauerbeck

That's a pretty good fuckin bullpen.
